Deuteronomy 30 does not allow the covenant to remain abstract. Moses speaks to a people who must understand that blessing and curse are not remote theological categories. Finally, Deuteronomy 30:15-20 places life and death before Israel with painful directness. Love, obedience, and clinging to the Lord are not optional supplements to covenant life. They are life itself.
