1 শলোমন প্রার্থনা শেষ করার পর আকাশ থেকে আগুন নেমে সব হোম ও বলি গ্রাস করল এবং সদাপ্রভুর মহিমায় গৃহ পূর্ণ হল৷ 2 আর যাজকরা সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে ঢুকতে পারল না, কারণ সদাপ্রভুর মহিমায় সদাপ্রভুর গৃহ পরিপূর্ণ হয়েছিল৷ 3 যখন আগুন নামল এবং সদাপ্রভুর মহিমা গৃহের উপরে বিরাজ করল, তখন ইস্রায়েলের সন্তানরা সবাই তা দেখতে পেল, আর তারা নত হয়ে পাথর বাঁধা মাটিতে উপুড় হয়ে প্রণাম করল এবং সদাপ্রভুর স্তব করে বলল, “তিনি মঙ্গলময়, হ্যাঁ, তাঁর দয়া অনন্তকাল স্থায়ী৷” 4 পরে রাজা ও সমস্ত লোক সদাপ্রভুর সামনে যজ্ঞ করলেন৷ 5 শলোমন রাজা বাইশ হাজার গরু ও এক লক্ষ কুড়ি হাজার মেষ বলিদান করলেন৷ এই ভাবে রাজা ও সমস্ত লোক ঈশ্বরের গৃহ প্রতিষ্ঠা করলেন৷ 6 আর যাজকরা নিজেদের পদ অনুসারে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল এবং লেবীয়েরাও সদাপ্রভুর সঙ্গীতের জন্য বাদ্যযন্ত্র নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল; যখন দায়ূদ তাদের মাধ্যমে প্রশংসা করেন, তখন সদাপ্রভুর দয়া অনন্তকাল স্থায়ী বলে যেন তাঁর স্তব করা হয়, এই জন্য দায়ূদ রাজা সব যন্ত্র তৈরী করেছিলেন; আর তাদের সামনে যাজকরা তূরী বাজাচ্ছিল এবং সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল৷ 7 আর শলোমন সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের সামনে উঠানের মাঝের জায়গাটি পবিত্র করলেন, কারণ তিনি সেখানে সমস্ত হোমবলি এবং মঙ্গলার্থক বলির মেদ উত্সর্গ করলেন, কারণ হোমবলি, ভক্ষ্য-নৈবেদ্য এবং সেই মেদ গ্রহণের জন্য শলোমনের তৈরী পিতলের যজ্ঞবেদি ছোট ছিল৷ 8 এই ভাবে সেই দিনের শলোমন ও তাঁর সঙ্গে সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল, হমাতের প্রবেশ-জায়গা থেকে মিশরের স্রোত পর্যন্ত একটি বিরাট জনতা, সাত দিন উত্সব করলেন৷ 9 পরে তাঁরা অষ্টম দিনের উত্সব-সভা করলেন, তার ফলে তাঁরা সাত দিন যজ্ঞবেদির প্রতিষ্ঠা ও সাত দিন উত্সব পালন করলেন৷ 10 শলোমন সপ্তম মাসের তেইশতম দিনের লোকদেরকে নিজেদের তাঁবুতে বিদায় করলেন৷ সদাপ্রভু দায়ূদের, শলোমনের ও তাঁর প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের যা কিছু মঙ্গল করেছিলেন, তার জন্য তারা আনন্দিত ও উল্লাসিত হয়েছিল৷ 11 এই ভাবে শলোমন সদাপ্রভুর গৃহ ও রাজবাড়ি তৈরীর কাজ শেষ করলেন; সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে ও নিজের বাড়িতে যা যা করতে শলোমনের ইচ্ছা হয়েছিল, সে সমস্ত তিনি ভালোভাবে সম্পূর্ণ করলেন৷ 12 পরে সদাপ্রভু রাতের বেলায় শলোমনকে দর্শন দিয়ে বললেন, “আমি তোমার প্রার্থনা শুনেছি ও যজ্ঞ-গৃহ হিসাবে এই জায়গা আমার জন্য মনোনীত করেছি৷ 13 আমি যদি আকাশকে থামিয়ে দিই, আর বৃষ্টি না হয়, কিংবা দেশ ধ্বংস করতে পঙ্গপালদেরকে আদেশ করি, অথবা আমার প্রজাদের মধ্যে মহামারী পাঠাই, 14 আমার প্রজারা, যাদেরকে আমার নামে ডাকা হয়েছে, তারা যদি নম্র হয়ে প্রার্থনা করে ও আমার মুখ খোঁজে এবং নিজেদের খারাপ পথ থেকে ফেরে, তবে আমি স্বর্গ থেকে তা শুনব, তাদের পাপ ক্ষমা করব ও তাদের দেশকে রোগ মুক্ত করব৷ 15 এখানে যে প্রার্থনা হবে, তার প্রতি আমার দৃষ্টি থাকবে ও কান খোলা থাকবে৷ 16 কারণ এই গৃহে যেন আমার নাম চিরকালের জন্য থাকে, তাই আমি এখন এটা মনোনীত ও পবিত্র করলাম এবং এখানে সর্বদা আমার দৃষ্টি ও মন থাকবে৷ 17 আর তোমার বাবা দায়ূদ যেমন চলত, তেমনি তুমিও যদি আমার সঙ্গে চল, আমি তোমাকে যে সব আদেশ দিয়েছি, যদি সেই অনুসারে কাজ কর এবং আমার বিধি ও শাসনগুলি মেনে চল; 18 তবে ‘ইস্রায়েলের উপরে কর্তৃত্ব করতে তোমার বংশে লোকের অভাব হবে না,’ এই বলে আমি তোমার বাবা দায়ূদের সঙ্গে যে নিয়ম করেছিলাম, সেই অনুসারে তোমার রাজসিংহাসন স্থির করব৷ 19 কিন্তু যদি তোমরা আমার থেকে ফেরো ও তোমাদের সামনে স্থাপিত আমার বিধি ও আদেশগুলি পরিত্যাগ কর, আর গিয়ে অন্য দেবতাদের সেবা কর ও তাদের প্রণাম কর, 20 তবে আমি ইস্রায়েলীয়দেরকে আমার যে দেশ দিয়েছি, সেখান থেকে তাদেরকে বংশ সমেত উচ্ছেদ করব এবং আমার নামের জন্য এই যে গৃহ পবিত্র করলাম, এটা আমার চোখের সামনে থেকে দূর করব এবং সমস্ত জাতির মধ্যে তা প্রবাদের ও উপহাসের পাত্র করব৷ 21 আর এই গৃহ উঁচু হলেও যে কেউ এর কাছ দিয়ে যাবে, সে চমকে উঠবে ও জিজ্ঞাসা করবে, ‘এই দেশের ও এই গৃহের প্রতি সদাপ্রভু কেন এরকম করেছেন?’ 22 আর লোকে বলবে, ‘এর কারণ হল, যিনি এদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে এনেছিলেন, ওরা তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে ত্যাগ করেছে এবং অন্য দেবতাদের কাছে মাথা নিচু করেছে ও তাদের সেবা করেছে, সেই জন্য তিনি তাদের উপর এইসব অমঙ্গল আনলেন৷’”
