Esther 4 is one of the chapters where providence becomes personal pressure. That line is not sentimental destiny language. It is a summons under pressure. Then Esther responds in Esther 4:15-16 not with guaranteed confidence, but with costly resolve. She will go, though it is against the law, and if she perishes, she perishes.
