חבקוק 3

Habakkuk 3 is not the voice of a man who has stopped shaking. It is the prayer of a prophet who has heard the coming judgment and learned to bring his fear into worship. In Habakkuk 3:2, he asks the Lord to revive his work in the midst of the years and in wrath remember mercy. That request already tells you what kind of chapter this is. Mercy is not sought from a place of ease but from the edge of judgment. Then the chapter moves through a vast rehearsal of God’s terrifying majesty in Habakkuk 3:3-15, where creation itself trembles under his march. This is not private inspiration. It is the prophet learning to see the coming crisis under a larger vision of God. Finally, in Habakkuk 3:16-19, the body still trembles, the circumstances are still collapsing, and yet rejoicing rises in the God of salvation. Habakkuk 3 matters because it asks whether your joy can survive the failure of visible supports, and whether you can worship while your knees still shake.
