Mark 8 is one of the chapters where the question “Who is Jesus?” stops being theoretical and begins to expose the heart. The chapter opens with another feeding miracle and yet the disciples still do not understand. In Mark 8:17-21, Jesus confronts their dullness, showing that nearness to power does not automatically produce sight. Then comes Peter’s confession in Mark 8:27-30.
