Toată făptura este iarbă şi toată frumuseţea acesteia este ca floarea câmpului, 7 Iarba se ofileşte, floarea se vestejeşte, pentru că duhul DOMNULUI suflă peste ea, cu siguranţă poporul este iarbă. 8 Iarba se ofileşte, floarea se vestejeşte, dar cuvântul Dumnezeului nostru va rămâne pentru totdeauna. 9 O, Sion, care aduci veşti bune, ridică-te la muntele înalt; Ierusalime, care aduci veşti bune, înalţă-ţi vocea cu tărie; înalţ-o, nu te teme; spune cetăţilor din Iuda: Iată-l pe Dumnezeul vostru! 10 Iată, Domnul DUMNEZEU va veni cu mână tare şi braţul său va stăpâni pentru el, iată, răsplata lui este cu el şi lucrarea lui înaintea lui. 11 Îşi va paşte turma ca un păstor, el va aduna mieii cu braţul său şi îi va purta în sânul său [şi] va conduce uşurel pe cele ce alăptează. 12 Cine a măsurat apele în căuşul palmei sale şi a măsurat cerul cu palma şi a cuprins ţărâna pământului într-o măsură şi a cântărit munţii în cântare şi dealurile într-o balanţă? 13 Cine a îndrumat duhul DOMNULUI, sau l-a învăţat ca sfătuitor al lui? 14 De la cine a luat sfat şi cine l-a instruit şi l-a învăţat în cărarea judecăţii şi l-a învăţat cunoaştere şi i-a arătat calea înţelegerii? 15 Iată, naţiunile sunt ca o picătură dintr-o găleată şi sunt socotite ca praful mărunt al balanţei; iată, el ia insulele ca pe un lucru foarte mic. 16 Şi Libanul nu este de ajuns pentru a arde, nici fiarele acestuia nu sunt de ajuns pentru o ofrandă arsă. 17 Toate naţiunile înaintea lui sunt ca nimic; şi sunt socotite pentru el mai puţin decât nimic şi deşertăciune. 18 Cu cine atunci veţi asemăna pe Dumnezeu? Sau cu ce asemănare îl veţi compara? 19 Lucrătorul topeşte un chip cioplit şi aurarul îl acoperă cu aur şi toarnă lănţişoare de argint. 20 Cel ce este atât de sărac încât nu are un dar, alege un lemn ce nu va putrezi; îşi caută un lucrător iscusit să pregătească un chip cioplit, ce nu va fi mutat. 21 Nu aţi cunoscut? Nu aţi auzit? Nu vi s-a spus de la început? Nu aţi înţeles de la întemeierea pământului? 22 El este cel ce şade pe rotocolul pământului şi locuitorii acestuia sunt ca greieri; el este cel ce întinde cerurile ca pe o perdea şi le întinde ca pe un cort de locuit, 23 Care nimiceşte prinţii; pe judecătorii pământului el îi face deşertăciune. 24 Da, ei nu vor fi sădiţi; da, nu vor fi semănaţi; da, tulpina lor nu va prinde rădăcină în pământ, iar el de asemenea va sufla peste ei şi se vor ofili şi vârtejul de vânt îi va duce ca pe paie. 25 Cu cine mă veţi asemăna, sau cu cine voi fi egal? spune Cel Sfânt. 26 Ridicaţi-vă ochii în înalt şi priviţi cine a creat aceste lucruri, el, care aduce oştirea lor după număr, el le cheamă pe toate pe nume prin măreţia puterii sale, fiindcă este tare în putere; niciuna dintre ele nu se sfârşeşte. 27 De ce spui tu, Iacobe, şi vorbeşti, Israele: Calea mea este ascunsă de DOMNUL şi judecata mea a trecut de la Dumnezeul meu? 28 Nu ai cunoscut? Nu ai auzit, că Dumnezeul veşnic, DOMNUL, Creatorul marginilor pământului, nu leşină, nici nu oboseşte?
