1 Şi se va întâmpla, după ce vor veni peste tine toate lucrurile acestea, binecuvântarea şi blestemul, pe care le-am pus înaintea ta şi ţi le vei aminti printre toate naţiunile la care te va împrăştia DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, 2 Şi te vei întoarce la DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău şi vei asculta de vocea lui conform cu tot ce îţi poruncesc eu astăzi, cu toată inima ta şi cu tot sufletul tău, tu şi copiii tăi, 3 Atunci DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău va întoarce pe captivii tăi şi va avea milă de tine şi te va întoarce şi te va aduna din nou dintre toate naţiunile, printre care te va fi împrăştiat DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău. 4 Dacă vreunul din ai tăi este împrăştiat până la cele mai îndepărtate margini ale cerului, DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te va aduna de acolo şi te va lua de acolo, 5 Şi DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te va aduce în ţara pe care au stăpânit-o părinţii tăi şi tu o vei stăpâni şi îţi va face bine şi te va înmulţi mai mult decât pe părinţii tăi. 6 Şi DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău îţi va circumcide inima şi inima seminţei tale, ca să iubeşti pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău cu toată inima ta şi cu tot sufletul tău, ca să trăieşti. 7 Şi DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău va pune toate aceste blesteme asupra duşmanilor tăi şi asupra celor ce te urăsc, care te-au persecutat. 8 Şi te vei întoarce şi vei asculta de vocea DOMNULUI şi vei împlini toate poruncile lui, pe care ţi le poruncesc astăzi. 9 Şi DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te va face abundent în fiecare lucrare a mâinii tale, în rodul pântecelui tău şi în rodul vitelor tale şi în rodul pământului tău, spre bine, pentru că DOMNUL se va bucura din nou de tine spre bine, precum s-a bucurat de părinţii tăi, 10 Dacă vei da ascultare la vocea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, ca să păzeşti poruncile lui şi statutele lui, care sunt scrise în cartea aceasta a legii, dacă te vei întoarce la DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău cu toată inima ta şi cu tot sufletul tău. 11 Pentru că această poruncă pe care ţi-o poruncesc astăzi, nu este nici ascunsă nici departe de tine. 12 Nu este în cer, ca să spui: Cine se va urca pentru noi în cer şi să ne-o aducă, pentru ca să o auzim şi să o împlinim? 13 Nici nu este dincolo de mare, ca să spui: Cine va trece pentru noi dincolo de mare şi să ne-o aducă, pentru ca să o auzim şi să o împlinim? 14 Ci cuvântul este foarte aproape de tine, în gura ta şi în inima ta, ca să îl împlineşti. 15 Vezi, am pus astăzi înaintea ta viaţa şi binele şi moartea şi răul; 16 În aceea că îţi poruncesc astăzi să îl iubeşti pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, să umbli în căile lui şi să păzeşti poruncile lui şi statutele lui şi judecăţile lui, ca să trăieşti şi să te înmulţeşti, şi ca DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău să te binecuvânteze în ţara în care mergi să o stăpâneşti. 17 Dar dacă ţi se abate inima şi nu vei asculta, ci vei fi atras şi te vei închina altor dumnezei şi le vei servi, 18 Vă mărturisesc astăzi, că veţi pieri negreşit şi nu vă veţi lungi zilele pe pământul pentru care treci Iordanul, ca să intri să îl stăpâneşti. 19 Chem cerul şi pământul să mărturisească astăzi împotriva voastră, v-am pus înainte viaţa şi moartea, binecuvântarea şi blestemul; alege dar viaţa, ca să trăiţi deopotrivă tu şi sămânţa ta, 20 Ca să poţi iubi pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău şi să asculţi de vocea lui şi să te poţi alipi de el, pentru că el este viaţa ta şi lungimea zilelor tale, ca să locuieşti în ţara pe care DOMNUL a jurat-o părinţilor tăi, lui Avraam, lui Isaac şi lui Iacob, că le-o dă.
