When we try to evaluate ourselves, we're often blind to our own contradictions and self-deceptions. The remarkable thing about the Gospel is that it shows us ourselves truly—not through our own distorted lens, but through God's clarifying love. Only when we see ourselves as God sees us do we begin to change from the inside out.
